Payments Underwriter (Hybrid/Remote)

The Underwriter will review and analyze TPPP (Third Party Payment Processor) underwriting packages as well as merchant level underwriting files. The Underwriting Analyst will review and analyze documentation provided to determine credit worthiness and will follow all of Commercial Bank of California’s appropriate policies and guidelines to mitigate overall financial and reputational risk exposures to the bank.

DUTIES:

• Review TPPP and merchant applications using different underwriting tools to gather information required to make a comprehensive assessment of credit worthiness, risk and mitigation
• Request additional documentation as needed
• Assembling underwriting files and scan to a network location
• Work closely with internal bank departments to ensure timely approval and review of files
• Answer internal and external inquiries with regard to underwriting issues
• Prepare daily/monthly/quarterly reports for management specific to Underwriting
• Audit daily accounts boarded/approved
• Perform a risk rating on all accounts
• Recommend and develop enhancements, sources and resources to assist in the review/underwriting process

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Communicate effectively (written and verbally) with internal and external associates
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Must be able to adhere to and meet given task deadlines
• Experience in reviewing and analyzing individual and corporate financial data, KYC/KYCC documentation
• Must be team oriented adhering to Commercial Bank of California’s corporate culture
• Must maintain a high level of accuracy in performance in a high-speed environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
• Minimum five years experience in payments processing
• Minimum five years experience in merchant/originator underwriting

Monday- Friday, 7am-4pm
