About the Team
Workday's Corporate Development team is responsible for driving Workday's inorganic growth strategy through the execution and integration of compelling acquisition and strategic investment opportunities in the company's core, adjacent and potentially new market sectors. The team partners closely with Workday's executive team, product strategy, GMs, and various vertical and functional leads to evaluate, analyze and execute the company's global M&A and strategic investments.
About the Role
The Corporate Development Manager will support transaction activities such as identifying, evaluating and executing public and private company acquisitions, joint ventures, asset divestitures and restructurings, minority investments and other critical initiatives. They must exhibit collaboration and coordination skills with both external parties and internal teams. They should be an organized self-starter who is able to think critically and demonstrate strong financial modeling skills.

Primary Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end transaction process from idea to business case to deal execution and integration.
- Identify and qualify new ideas and potential targets for Workday from internal and external sources.
- Coordinate a cross-functional deal team within Workday and serve as a point of contact to target company management and advisors.
- Perform extensive financial modeling and valuation analyses.
- Prepare presentations which will be reviewed with our executives and deal committees on a regular basis.
- Assist in refining playbooks that incorporate prior experiences and industry best practices across all key work streams.
- Create, track and maintain a pipeline of transactions across the businesses
About You
Basic Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree from a top-rated university.
- 3-5 years in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or similar level of experience and skills; experience with the technology sector / SaaS preferred.
- Strong financial modeling and M&A valuation skills is a must
- Exceptional problem solving and communication skills
- Proficiency in crafting detailed, operationally focused financial models and performing detailed valuation analyses; strong accounting skills and understanding of key operational metrics.
- Ability to distill target diligence findings into key value drivers; identify and assess key issues and model / value opportunities and risks.
- Mature personality and experience working with senior leadership; ability to build relationships quickly and cultivate trust at all organizational levels.
- Self-starter capable of working independently while managing numerous simultaneous priorities
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly
- Strong writing skills and outstanding communicator with the ability to craft clear, succinct presentations for top level company executives.
- Strong attention to detail and highly accountable with demonstrated ability to follow through.
