Associate Lending Transactor / (AVP)

By combining our lending financial services business with private banking products built specifically to service the needs of Financial Advisors and their clients, we can tailor banking and lending solutions to client needs.

We are seeking a high potential candidate to work on the Ultra High New Worth (UHNW) Lending team serving UHNW clients (generally clients with a minimum net worth of at least $50 million). The ALT will be located in the New York area and will support and collaborate with the UHNW Senior Lending Transactors (SLTs) throughout the East Coast of the US.

Position Summary:

  • Position Goal is to support the SLTs/LTs in delivering the UHNW, including Tailored Lending, product. The Position will have a specific focus on Life Insurance as Collateral (LIC), and Securities Based Lending (SBL) on both the Bank and Broker Dealer platforms.

Responsibilities will include assisting the SLTs with the following:

  • Work closely with Senior Lending Transactors and Lending Transactors to support the execution of UHNW LIC and SBL requests.

  • Assist with concentrated or restricted stock requests within SBL products and provide liquidity and credit analysis.

  • Understand the Firms credit policy and philosophy and develop structuring recommendations within that framework

  • Gain confidence of the Firm partners and become Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all areas of SBL and LIC.

  • Support and present creative and intelligent solutions when reviewing SBL/LIC opportunities and understand the competitive landscape.

  • Proactively manage SBL/LIC deal pipeline and reporting to ensure service levels are achieved and production is managed across the team.

  • Review and analyze non-standard borrower types such as non-profit, irrevocable trusts, and third-party pledge structures

  • Provide subject matter expertise to Private Bankers and Financial Advisors to drive and help execute new business.

  • Develop training material to provide product awareness and understanding among Financial Advisors and Private Bankers.

  • Collaborate closely with Private Bankers, Risk, Legal, Operations and other partners in support of the Firms goals.

  • Identify gaps to customer experience, translate them to actionable projects and deliver on enhancements.

  • Additional responsibilities as required by Lending Transactors and Head of UHNW Lending Liquid Products.

Experience

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in lending origination and credit analysis, Private Banking Lending experience is a plus

  • Formal credit training preferred

  • Series 7 and 66 Licenses are preferred

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate your assessment in a clear and professional manner

  • Maintain poise and presence coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills to build relationships with sophisticated UNHW clients and their advisors

  • Demonstrate creativity and intelligent solutions in structuring sophisticated client transactions

  • Balance revenue expectations with risk requirements of firm to ensure client and firms interests are met

  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills

  • Detail orientation with exceptional analytical skills

  • Significant accounting and finance knowledge

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage Financial Advisor and client expectations

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Good collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment

  • Travel is required
