Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Doorman is a key member of the Front Desk team and the condominium management team in general. The Front Desk team members are the first persons a resident or a prospect meets when they come home. The work is performed in a uniform/work clothes provided by the company in keeping with the Azure’s image as a luxury condominium. The job incumbent provides superior customer service, possesses detailed knowledge of building and company policies and procedures, and performs essential functions relating to the accessibility and maintenance of the building. The job incumbent possesses strong customer service, communication, and telephone skills as well as the competency to work independently and with minimal direct supervision. Front Desk team members greet residents, check guests and service providers in/out, provide the first level of security by following access control and emergency response procedures, monitor and operate electronic security control systems; and accurately maintain daily logs, forms and records. This position requires attention to detail, ability to multi-task, strong interpersonal skills. Texas Department of Public Safety Non-Commercial Office License is preferred but not required.


POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions:

• Greet and direct residents, guests, and invitees.

• Assist residents as fully as possible, including opening front doors, helping with packages and luggage, calling taxis, etc.

• Maintain appearance of front desk, cart room, and lobby area.

• Monitor access control system.

• Maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the building and property.

• Keep current on emergency procedures, evacuation plans, and fire and emergency systems.

• Respond to emergency situations in a timely and efficient manner.

• Have knowledge of local amenities and activities as well as the greater Fort Worth/Dallas area.

• Handle cart and ladder check-out/check-in for residents.

• Proactively identify problems requiring maintenance attention.

• Responsible for on-the-spot cleaning and maintenance of the lobby, elevators, and entrance area.

• Package control and check out packages to residents.

• Check out keys as approved with proper documentation.

• Maintain daily logs, records, and forms.

• Assist in investigations, tape/log review for any unusual incidents.

• Assist management with any special requests, i.e., administrative work, mailings, etc.

• Resolve and follow-up on all complaints/issues.

• Demonstrates excellent customer service, communication, and time management skills.

• Know and inform residents of the Rules and Regulations of the Azure; report all violations on DAR.

• Follow and apply all Standard Operating Procedures.

• Complete building patrols as scheduled.

• Place work orders for all items of concern or in need of maintenance in the common areas.

• Able to correspond effectively by email with management in a timely manner.

• Is expected to contribute to continuous improvement by offering suggestions that benefit the Azure resident experience.

• Attend mandatory monthly meetings, and other pre-scheduled events at the direction of management (including but not limited to meetings held outside normally scheduled work shifts).


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education/Training:

• High school diploma or equivalency. College level courses in hospitality or business are a plus.


Experience/Knowledge:

• One (1) to two (2) years of industry experience preferred.

• Basic command of Microsoft Office computer software including but not limited to email, Word, Excel.


Skills:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work in a team and contribute to its successful functioning.


Special Requirements:

• Ability to lift 30-50 lbs.; Handle, finger, grasp and lift objects and packages.

• Work in an upright standing or sitting positions for long periods of time; Reach with hands and arms.

• Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions and to complete all applicable forms.

• Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on project requirements.

• Ability to respond to emergencies and callouts on a timely manner.


Certificates & Licenses:

• Texas Department of Public Safety Non-Commercial Office License is preferred but not required.


Vision Requirements:

• Constant need (66-100% of time) to document maintenance and complete forms, read cautionary labels, respond to written instructions from management, co-workers, and residents.

• Frequent need (33-66% of time) to see things clearly beyond arm’s reach and to observe problems throughout the property.


Hearing Requirements:

• Constant need (66-100% of time) to communicate with residents, vendors, and on-site staff. Must have listening skills to diagnose needed repairs, etc.


Speaking Requirements:

• Constant need (66-100% of time) to communicate verbally and in written format, receive and exchange ideas with residents, vendors, and staff.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily in an office setting but requires occasional activities in vehicles and outdoors, in all weather conditions, including temperature extremes, during day and night shifts. Job functions may have to be performed in emergency and stressful situations.

Saturday - Sunday: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Wednesday - Friday: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

40 hours per week.
