Wholesale flooring company is hiring full-time Class B driver in San Leandro CA. Drivers for this position are responsible for pick-ups and drop offs from vendors and local customer deliveries within the Bay Area. Most of the work is deliveries, though may require light WH work when not driving.

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY: This is position is responsible for properly loading and securing the prepared orders on their assigned truck, following the route schedule that is prepared by the manager/office, driving safely and following all traffic rules and restrictions, delivering orders, and collecting signed paperwork or CODs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of shipments; secures the prepared orders on the truck uses straps, pulls and packs will-call orders accurately.
• Route direction follows the route schedule that is prepared by management / office.
• Drives company truck safely and follows all traffic rules and restrictions.
• Collection paperwork delivers orders in safely manner and collects all signed paperwork and payments.
• Communication:
  • Remains in constant communications with management.
  • Follows all instructions by management.
• Observes safety and security procedures by taking appropriate action beyond guidelines to report potentially all unsafe vehicle and road conditions.
• Company equipment uses equipment and materials properly with great caution. Performs vehicle checks before and after uses.
• Completes driver logs (Paper/ELD) and will always utilized Samsara.
• Uses Easy Clocking phone app to clock-in\out for lunch breaks on the road when instructed.
• Participates in all driver and warehouse safety meetings when instructed by management.
• Ability to use a pallet jack.
• Performs warehouse duties and other duties as assigned by manager.
• Works the assigned schedule provided by management. (Schedules and assignments may change for business needs).
• Full Time Monday Thru Friday 7:00am to 4:30pm
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Compensation: $20.00 thru $24.00 Hr.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Driver license and a clean driving record.
• Current DOT physical with active medical card.
• Ability to adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of (Samsara) electronic logs is a plus
  Ability to carry and lift up to 40lb
• Flexible with excellent customer service skills
  Safety Oriented
• Forklift exp. a plus
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
