Job Description
General Ledger Accountant
Accounting Principals is seeking a temp GL Accountant in the Mclean, VA area. Must have a degree in accounting or related field and have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant accounting experience. Must also be willing to go into the office, this a hybrid position.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting
- GAAP knowledge and experience
- Software/hardware industry experience preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills
- Assist in inventory management – uploading inventory batches, monthly reporting, verifying/calculating prices, and reconciling inventory count balances.
- Calculate cost of goods sold for subsidiaries
- Conduct quarterly statement flux analysis
- Document lease entries in accordance with ASC 842 and fixed asset purchases to the subledger
- Construct intercompany eliminations
- Prepare and maintain recurring journal entries
- Assist with external year-end audits and with the preparation of work papers
- Perform monthly/quarterly accruals
- Other duties as assigned
