General Ledger Accountant

Accounting Principals is seeking a temp GL Accountant in the Mclean, VA area. Must have a degree in accounting or related field and have a minimum of 2 years’ relevant accounting experience. Must also be willing to go into the office, this a hybrid position.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting
  • GAAP knowledge and experience
  • Software/hardware industry experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Responsibilities:

  • Assist in inventory management – uploading inventory batches, monthly reporting, verifying/calculating prices, and reconciling inventory count balances.
  • Calculate cost of goods sold for subsidiaries
  • Conduct quarterly statement flux analysis
  • Document lease entries in accordance with ASC 842 and fixed asset purchases to the subledger
  • Construct intercompany eliminations
  • Prepare and maintain recurring journal entries
  • Assist with external year-end audits and with the preparation of work papers
  • Perform monthly/quarterly accruals
  • Other duties as assigned
