Maintenance Worker (Brooklyn & Queens)
Job Description
Function/Skills:
The Maintenance worker reports to the Residence Supervisor and is responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the facility at all times.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for cleaning of all client's bedrooms daily.
- Responsible for cleaning windows on a regular basis.
- Keeps all areas in a sanitary condition by promptly cleaning and disinfecting areas soiled by client incidents.
- Responsible for cleaning all offices daily.
- Responsible for small plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
- Responsible for thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting all restrooms daily.
- Responsible for emptying all wastepaper baskets daily.
- Responsible for vacuuming all carpeting daily. Shampoo rugs as required.
- Wax and maintain all furniture and other wood surfaces.
- Responsible for sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing all floors as required on a daily basis.
- Responsible for removing all trash and garbage from the building.
- Responsible for painting rooms when required.
- Checks water temperature daily.
- Responsible for adhering to Agency policies as it pertains to time and attendance and recording such time with Agency approved recording device(s).
- Able to lift and transfer up to 25 pounds.
- May be assigned to work with Individuals in wheelchairs, walkers, and operate Hoyer lifts if needed.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- HS diploma/GED is required.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- 1-3 years’ experience as maintenance worker preferred.
