Jr. Accounts Receivable

This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Chicago Land Area. Robert Half is partnering with a growing company who is seeking a Jr. Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk to join the accounting team. As part of their duties, the Jr. Accounts Receivable Clerk will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. This position is for candidates who are looking for career growth potential, and who are capable of processing 200+ invoices per week.

Your responsibilities:

- Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers

- Offer information to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders

- Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans

- Compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports and take care of payments in compliance with GAAP

- Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in different ledgers

- Support, communicate, and reinforce the mission, values and culture of the organization

- Verify documents and codes

- Perform a variety of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
