Payroll Specialist
Classification: Payroll Clerk
Compensation: $40000.00 to $50000.00 yearly
Do you have excellent communication skills and an interest in developing your career? As a Payroll Clerk for one of our clients, you would support the Accounting department by processing payroll for over 300 people as well as assisting in other areas of Accounting. Based in the Findlay, Ohio area, this position would be needed on a permanent basis. Entering data, reconciling timecards, distributing paychecks, calculating and entering Journal Entries and providing statements to various departments are among the duties of the position. Strong communication skills and effective collaboration with internal team members and outside customers are needed.
Major responsibilities
- Maintain payroll operations by training/instructing employees in the proper use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.
- Contact employees via email and phone to collect timesheet approvals
- Provide clerical support by filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
- Collect and enter data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Make reports easily accessible by administer/saving them as instructed
- Generate and run custom reports
- Excellent data entry skills
- Adeptness in ADP Online
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree required
- Solid understanding of Automated Payroll
- Payroll systems for 100-500 employees experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of journal entries
- Experience with Payroll Functions
- Garnishments payroll experience
- Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
- Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Payroll software experience recommended
- 2+ years of previous payroll experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to easily learn new systems
