Coordinator, Affiliate Operations

NBCUniversal is seeking a coordinator to join a driven and highly motivated team within NBCUniversal's Technical Operations. The coordinator will aid in overseeing distribution partnerships and act as a technical and operational liaison of NBCUniversal's linear properties.
The coordinator will join the Distribution branch of Technical Operations which provides live support and troubleshooting to maintain healthy content outputs to cable and streaming companies while providing reliable playout for consumers. This position will collaborate with internal and external team members to onboard new services and provide timely resolutions to in market escalations.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Content replacement & program blackouts: for Regional and National networks, certain markets are unable to air programs due to rights restrictions. The coordinator will be ensuring these restrictions are programmed and executed.
  • In market hardware management: between stations, nationwide, and cable headends, there are hundreds of IRDs, encoders, and devices in use and managed by NBCUniversal. The coordinator will be responsible for assisting the team in managing this full portfolio of hardware, troubleshooting, onboarding, and replacing this hardware as required.
  • Upgrades & migration assistance: the coordinator will play a key role in helping complete critical migrations for distribution and/or upgrading in field devices.
  • Database management: maintain and update documentation and databases across the team to provide recent contact information, hardware/software upgrade tracking, and accurate account information for financial billing or reliability.

  • Channel activation and deactivation
  • Quarterly database audits and reconciliation
  • Primary contact into and out of the Distribution branch
  • Distribution project execution for a variety of cutting-edge initiatives
  • Assist in maintaining Technical Operations availability and reliability of NBCUniversal content


Qualifications/Requirements

  • 1+ year(s) of technical and client support experience
  • Willingness to help support a 24x7 operation
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Must be able to commute into NBCU Technical Operations facility (Englewood Cliffs, NJ) as required
