Strategic Sourcing Analyst III

Job Description
As the Strategic Sourcing Analyst, you will be responsible for securing and analyzing quotations and conducting difficult negotiations with all levels of both domestic and international suppliers for the purchase of fixed assets, parts, tooling materials and/or services. The typical annual dollar buy is $100 to $300 million.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Develop and implement commodity strategies to establish long-term sourcing.
- Expedite the procurement of parts or materials in short or critical supply.
- Perform market analyses and competitive evaluations.
- Coordinate quality matters, engineering and price changes between company components and suppliers.
- Negotiate and settle with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations and engineering change orders.
- Develop and implement long-term sourcing strategies.
- Provide direction and training to inventory buyers and planners as needed.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires at least 5 years related experience.
- Has broad expertise including purchasing for lean manufacturing, Kanban and supplier development.
- May be the in-house expert in specific areas.
- Requires excellent negotiation abilities and strong analytical skills.
- Shows exceptional verbal and written communication skills including with executives or in international contexts.
- Requires knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control.
- Must have knowledge of economic principles and financial markets.
- Competent in computerized procurement systems.
- Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- SAP experience.
