Job Description

Change Healthcare is looking for a visionary product management executive to shape and drive the vision for the future of the enterprises product strategy. This individual will report directly to the EVP, Enterprise Technology and operate as a member of the Change Healthcare Senior Leadership Team. As the product management leader for Enterprise Technology, you will look across our diverse solution set and paint the vision of the future of Change Healthcare in the industry. You will share that vision with key influencers across the organization to evangelize the next generation of our technology platform and product portfolio. You will have the opportunity to create a distinctive design and roadmap that provides a superior experience for our customers and determines where the industry will go related to healthcare technology.

You will operate as a member of the senior leadership team, working closely with the Presidents, General Managers, and Technology leaders to develop a strategy that optimizes our diverse product portfolio, accelerating our journey to a next generation, healthcare financial management platform solution that seamlessly incorporates technology and services and positions our customers to succeed with an unparalleled level of insights into their own business and their patients experience.

You will partner with key internal and external stakeholders to scope, develop and execute on new solutions with a design-thinking approach. You will actively engage the market, key customers and key influencers, seeking opportunities for partnerships and strategic co-innovation projects alongside forward-thinking providers, payers, and premier customer-partners. You will also work closely with internal business and technology teams to define aspects of the product and platform road map, creatively leveraging all assets of Change Healthcares extensive suite of products and services, especially the vast data assets. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, including design-thinking experience, a big picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must communicate effectively with all areas of the company to evangelize the vision of the product and achieve buy-in at the C-Suite and beyond, as well as the external market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishes a shared product, solution, or service vision across the enterprise by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution, and ensuring that the product, solution, or service is aligned with Change Healthcares brand, strategic and competitive position, and other related/interfaced product, solution, or service.

  • Defines and analyzes insightful metrics that inform the success of products, including the feature sets, business requirements, and measures of success of an overall roadmap, aligned with business strategy, and customer needs and informed by competitive intelligence, engages with the market (buyers, end consumers, delivery partners) to lead and manage the design a product, solution, or service strategy that is market driven.

  • Works closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to ensure that business requirements are understood. Helps prioritize engineering work while balancing the requirements of customers and stakeholders. Provides cross functional product leadership across key stakeholders including engineering, sales, account management, operations, user experience design, marketing, business development.

  • In partnership with the general managers of the product area, set up an eco-system of customers and other market stakeholders to understand their needs, issues, and strategies, test hypotheses, and create true, user-focused design and best-in-class user experience.

  • Own product commitments and outcomes to the business leaders, working with Project Management to manage cross-portfolio dependencies. Understand and champion the financial impact (revenue and costs) of each product, ensuring prioritization is optimized for long-term business success

  • Work across various groups to ensure an integrated Product launch, including product concept, comprehensive solution documentation, pre-launch demos, integrated user acceptance test plans and life-cycle plans.

  • Communicate across a broad matrix with Marketing, Development, IT, Implementations, and customers regarding ideation, specification, design, test and deployment.

  • Deeply understand market trends and anticipate competitive threats, leveraging this knowledge to create objective, comparative evaluations and recommendations for potential new products, processes, and enhancements for senior-level decision-makers.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree with a Masters or Ph.D. preferred

  • Business Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience leading product management or product development with success in meeting budgets and timelines for a division or operation unit for a healthcare or technology business, with at least five (5) years in a senior leadership role.

  • Minimum 5 years executive management experience

  • Experience as a strategy consultant and/or product officer of a large product suite preferred

  • Experience leveraging design-thinking methodology and empathy interviewing practices

  • Strong leadership experience in the product development process

  • Proven leadership (results delivered) in a matrix environment for over 5 years

  • Ability to create business process and modeling documentation

  • Strong ability to present to C-Suite and Board of Directors audiences

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Problem solving skills with an ability to incorporate process improvement tools

  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment

  • Consultative approach to building consensus

  • Ability to anticipate needs

  • Market-facing responsibilities including working with internal teams to understand customer purchase process and usage patterns, engaging customer councils and providing consultative assistance in sales opportunities.

  • Thought leadership; assist in the preparation and presentation of articles and papers to industry groups.

  • Provides leadership to resolve product, quality or customer satisfaction problems.

  • Lead and grow a team of Technical Product Management professions spanning across all areas of our industry-leading, cloud-based healthcare technology stack.

    Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization with an open, honest and direct communication style that develops rapport and credibility across the organization and promotes ideas and proposals persuasively.
