Software Project Manager
Classification: Project Manager/Sr. Consultant
Compensation: $130000.00 to $150000.00 yearly
A client of ours in Carmel, IN is currently seeking to hire an immediate full time/permanent need for a Software Project Manager. The Software Project Manager will focus on identifying root causes, gather requirements, write technical specifications to meet project objectives, maintain timeline planning across a portfolio of projects, determine project deliverables, and work with multiple teams to drive projects to completion. The Software Project Manager will work first shift Monday-Friday and be able to work 100% remotely.
What you do as the Software Project Manager:
- Schedule, plan, and lead requirement gathering meetings
- Write technical specifications to meet project objectives and requirements
- Maintain resource and timeline planning across a portfolio of projects
- Determine the critical path for project deliverables and coordinate cross-team efforts to complete projects
- Take an active role in identifying blockers and coordinate efforts to resolve them
- Prioritize project tasks in collaboration with Senior Leadership and Product Owners, and clearly communicate priorities to technical teams
- Provide weekly project updates to business and technical stakeholders
- Utilize Jira and other tools to provide visibility into planned and ongoing work
- Apply the appropriate project management methodology - Agile, Kanban, or Waterfall to meet project needs
What you bring to the role:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or related technical field is preferred
- 2+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, preferably developing applications in the Microsoft stack
- 3+ years of Project Management experience in the software space writing detailed technical requirements
- Proven leadership skills with experience leading/guiding technical teams
- Skilled in questioning stakeholders to uncover objectives, requirements, and edge cases
- Have exceptional attention to detail and risk management skills
- Ability to balance business and technical objectives when making decisions
- Ability to balance multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
