Hardware Engineer
Summary:
As the Hardware Engineer you will be a part of the innovation of developing the next generation of instrumentation for electric power generation, transmission, and distribution industry. The Hardware Engineer III will help create processing design and digital measurement which will be used in the company’s equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Create specifications for hardware design and enhancement
- Aid in the design of schematics for assigned products, and PCB layout resources
- Collaborate with the Mechanical Design team to meet customer specifications
- FGA design, synthesis, place and route, verification, and simulations via Verilog
- Troubleshoot bugs and validate hardware and FPGA designs
- Develop and perform verifications to meet Regulatory compliance (CE, UL EMI/EMC, etc.) Manufacturing (DMF) and Test (DFT)
- Perform simulations such as Signal Integrity, SPICE, and PSim to evaluate designs
- Collaborate to research and prototype concepts for evaluation
- Troubleshoot and bring-up of new board designs
- Work collaboratively on developmental projects and team meetings
- Assist with maintenance of existing products as required such as part obsolescence to new features
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, required
- 3+ years of experience in circuit design, FPGA developments, and circuit layout
- Experience with Altium, Vivado, Aldec, and/or ModelSim, or similar, preferred
- Experience with PSpice, and/or PSIM, preferred
- Working knowledge of Xilinx ISE/Vivado, and/or Lattice Diamond FGPA design tools, preferred
