Systems Administrator II with Security Clearance

The Electronic Technician SA IAT II duties include but are not limited to: Works for and reports to the Site Manager. Duties to perform: • Use and install networking equipment such as switches, routers and firewalls. • Perform hardware and software installation in a client/server environment. • Perform routine maintenance to include diagnostic testing and optimization. • Coordinate and implement software backup and antivirus IA requirements. • Provide IA security oversight for the COMS devices to include coordinating with IAM on IA security measures; guidance, training and assistance to other technicians on IA matters. • Maintain knowledge of System Log-on Control Mechanisms (Windows, Red Hat etc.). • Maintain understanding / familiarity with Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM); ACAS, HBSS as well as Virtual Machine Restore procedures. • Ensure information ownership responsibilities; review and maintenance of IA certifications; security measures are incorporated in all training devices; security violations and incidents are properly documented and reported; IAM security procedures are implemented; all personnel are in compliance with security requirements. • Perform comprehensive scheduled IA preventive maintenance of computer systems and network components. • Provides the necessary monthly reports and keeps an accurate inventory. • Provides a resource of knowledge, experience and guidance to lower level Technicians to facilitate their professional training and capabilities. • Performs other tasking as required or assigned by the Site Manager. • Meets the Minimum Credential requirements and can maintain the minimum training requirements as identified in DoD 8570.01M; • Possess a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position or equivalent; experience should include Customer Service and Technical Support, Data Administration, Knowledge Management, Network Services, System Administration, and Systems Security Analysis; • Possess current certification in CompTIA Security+ or equivalent and must be able to maintain necessary certifications and required forty (40) hours of annual continuing education (reference the DoD Approved 8570 Baseline IAT-II Certifications); • Possess or obtain applicable CE/OS Certifications upon hire • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using and installing networking equipment such as switches, routers and firewalls; • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs); • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with system patching and IA vulnerability alerts (IAVA), IA vulnerability bulletins (IAVB), and technical advisories (TA) • Be able to perform hardware and software installation in a client/server environment; • Be able to support, monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware and software IA problems; • Be able to provide end user support for all IA related applications; • Be able to perform routine maintenance, to include diagnostic testing and optimization;
Within six (6) months of assignment, complete Government sponsored training on the DoD Host Based Security System (HBSS) and the DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and be able to assist Government IA personnel in the configuration and sustainment of HBSS, and able to execute and analyze vulnerability scans upon request by Government IA personnel; • Be able to coordinate and implement software backup and antivirus requirements; • Be able to perform scheduled IA specific preventive maintenance of computer systems and network components; • Be able to coordinate Cybersecurity/ATO requirements with Government Cybersecurity/IA personnel, including the ISSM, ISSO, ISEO, and COR • Possess a working knowledge and familiarity with applicable Cybersecurity instructions and practices (e.g., DoDI 8570.01-M series– Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program; CJCSM 6510.01 series- Defense-In-Depth: Information Assurance (IA) and Computer Network Defense (CND); DoD 8570.01M; and DoDI 8500.1 Cybersecurity). • Requires mental alertness and ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English. Physical ability to walk on rugged, un-level surfaces, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, and to climb two (2) flights of stairs and ladders is required. • The ability to lift and carry 75 pounds is required. • Must present a professional appearance in demeanor and dress at all times. • Applicant must be a US citizen, possess the ability to obtain a US passport. • Applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to receive and maintain a minimum of a SECRET clearance for access to classified information.
