Senior Planner - Electrical
The role:
The Senior Planner – Electrical is responsible for assisting in the planning, budgeting and safe execution of projects and initiatives. Employees at this level are expected to be role models of our company values.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Produce workstream or project plans, ensuring that all activities are identified, are appropriately organized to deliver project objectives, and comply with the organization's project management framework.
- Deliver small-scale or medium-scale projects while working within an established program management plan.
- Follow the organization's HS&E policies, procedures and mandatory instructions, to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing of oneself and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve these, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
- Define and deliver products and services that meet operations needs by selecting the best possible approaches available within established systems.
- Conduct research using primary data sources and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
- Identify and evaluate complex, expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
- Develop and propose own performance objectives; take appropriate actions to ensure achievement of agreed objectives, using the organization's performance management systems to improve personal performance. OR Manage and report on team performance; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project / account team members and hold them accountable for achieving these, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.
- Deliver a budget for an area of the organization or conduct complex analyses on budget progress in other areas of the organization.
- Multitasking to watch over different teams and activities at the same time,
- Exhibiting calmness and diplomacy to ease tensions when conflicts and problems arise,
- Attention to project detail,
- Directly supervise jobsite crews to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
- Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Maintains a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and design purposes.
- Able to read and understand plans, and specifications
The successful candidate will have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Trade experience a plus
- 10-12 years of Field Experience
- 5 years’ supervision experience
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
