Network Engineer - Junior
Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Junior Network Engineer to join our Cyber Range Operations team supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC). This facility supports the Test Resource Management Center s (TRMC) mission to provide realistic cybersecurity environments for test and evaluation of major DoD acquisition programs and to enable the conduct of realistic training and certification events for the DoD Cyber Mission Force. The NCRC facility may also support non-DoD customers such as Department of Homeland Security (DHS), industry, academia and international partners. The successful candidate will serve as a Configuration Management Analyst at the Orlando, Florida site.
The position also installs, maintains and evaluates network systems and communications. Troubleshoots the complex network issues involving various factors. Conducts network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies. Must have knowledge of Internet, computer, routers, switches, firewall, etc. Design and implement computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks. Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning. May also design network and computer security measures. May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing. This positions supports the program and all duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education/Experience Requirement: HS 4 , AA 2 , BS 0
HS degree with 4 years of relevant experience, Associates with 2 years of relevant experience or Bachelor's Degree and 0 years working experience; candidates with Armed Forces college courses or extensive certification, and additional experience are highly encouraged to apply.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Active Top Secret/SCI Eligible clearance
Minimum Secret, must be able to obtain a TS/SCI
Associates or Bachelors degree of computer science, or engineering or its equivalent
Active, Reserve, or National Guard military service with network or cyber security experience
DoD 8570.01M/ IAT-II certification within 6 months of assignment to position
