Manager 1 - Army General Funds Audit Readiness



Job Description

Responsibilities include addressing issues impeding the audit ability of the Armys financial statements, as well as enhancing the FIPs effectiveness as a management tool for guiding, monitoring, and reporting on the Army efforts to identify and resolve its financial management weaknesses and achieve financial statement audit ability. Specific staff responsibilities include:

  • Determine a comprehensive and technical status of current financial improvement and audit readiness capabilities;
  • Identify the conditions and issues preventing Army from maintaining compliant and audit ability financial records;
  • Identify best practices for developing and maintaining compliant and auditable financial information;
  • Identify, prioritize and devise new or revised accounting policies and procedures and recommend implementation strategies to address impediments to a successful audit;
  • Develop detailed audit readiness methodologies, policies, and guidance;
  • Develop, improve, and assist in executing corrective actions;
  • Provide program management support to manage the efforts under this contract; and
  • Provide professional development support to Army field operations.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Business Management or CPA or CISA or PMP or CGFM or CDFM
CLEARANCE:
  • Current Secret Clearance; or the ability and intention of obtaining a Secret Clearance
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • GAAP / GAGAS / ICOFR experience is a plus
  • At least 4 years experience with DoD and/or Army financial management policies and procedures
  • IT Audit or IT compliance testing is a plus: Technical proficiency.
