Regional Sales and Engineering Manager, Northeast

The Regional Manager is a senior leadership and business development role responsible for developing and successfully carrying out a collaborative sales strategy that enables WITTENSTEIN to reach sales revenue targets, and increase market share. The regional strategy will complement WITTENSTEIN corporate goals and objectives. The Regional Manager will build, lead, and mentor a team consisting of Sales Engineers and a field Application Engineers to insure they are reaching their targets.

Leadership and Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead, coach and mentor a team of Regional Sales and Application Managers to the successful completion of team objectives. Develop staff and insure they are equipped with the tools and competencies needed to be effective.
  • Set and achieve sales objectives by establishing and communicating a business development strategy and targets.
  • Establish and implement a structure, organization, and discipline to the region – acquire market share data, proactively focus on competitor target accounts, understand potential and product development needs, and document in our CRM system
  • Responsible for strategic alliance and global/ national account development within region
  • Analyze and understand customer requirements, future product plans and expansion activities to develop penetration strategies for new business opportunities.
  • Cultivate customer relationships, deliver effective proposals and negotiate contracts to capture profitable new business.
  • Effectively brief and leverage senior leaders on strategy and tactics to enhance customer relationships and consummate deals.
  • Successfully negotiate difficult and/or critical business matters through interaction with senior leaders both internally and externally.
  • Provide technical support services to customers relating to use, operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Conduct frequent one-on-one and team meetings and semi-annual performance reviews with staff
  • Responsible for contributing to the North American Sales Meeting planning, agenda, and content

Administrative Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Hold self and team accountable for timely regional forecasting, proposal objectives and deliverables to maximize sales and market share growth
  • Conforms to regional travel budget and reviews/ approves expense reports
  • Compiles customer general company information, contacts, project/ application information, and meeting notes) and enters them into WITTENSTEIN’s customer management relationship database.
  • Prepare written presentation, reports and proposals as needed
  • Maintain accounts receivables in compliance with objectives.
  • Create customer sales programs
  • Complete timely expense reports

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years managerial experience preferred
  • 1 year territory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of program management, manufacturing, supply chain and operations functions.
  • Dynamic builder of relationships with customers, with a proven track record of identifying new areas of opportunity and negotiating complex business deals for mutual benefit.
  • An effective communicator with customers, leaders and peers.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, organization and decision-making skills.
  • Well versed in MS Office and CRM applications.
  • Significant travel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Five years experience in a technical business development role; three years sales
