The Contracts & Procurement Manager will be responsible for sophisticated, multi-million-dollar construction contracts and procurement with construction projects in California and other metropolitan areas. As the Contracts & Procurement Manager, you will need to drive the delivery of strategic and efficient procurement service. To be successful in this role, you will have need to be skilled in public sector procurement programs and contract management. You will be responsible for understanding the legal terms and conditions commonly reviewed during a procurement engagement in order to advise decision makers of contractual risks, aid in negotiations and find pragmatic solutions to potential legal challenges within a contract.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work independently on the testing of new systems in a constantly evolving environment

  • Lead the supply chain function while considering manufacturing capacity, scheduling workloads, managing in-house manufacturing, quality control, and workforce balance

  • Lead major projects and tenders, ensuring all sourcing activity fully complies with appropriate legislation and regulation whilst also aligning with organization policies

  • Own the creation and maintenance of pipeline procurement projects (forecast and tracking) to achieve or exceed agreed minimum annual savings target

  • Develop positive cross-functional team and customer relationships and models effective interactions and problem resolution

  • Develop working relationships with suppliers

  • Provide support and advice to stakeholders regarding any contractual or procurement matters

  • Lead materials planning and procurement

  • Take a proactive approach to identifying and investigating contractual, commercial and market risks to ensure continuity of supply

  • Provide procurement reports and contractual support

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelors degree in business, supply chain or other related field (preferred)

  • 4 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, operations

  • Solid understanding and familiarity with legal terms and conditions commonly reviewed during a procurement engagement

  • Experience of delivering continuous improvements in large, strategic arrangements with evidence of generating significant cost and service benefits.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiations and problem-solving skills. Passionate for results, strategy, and hands on execution.

  • Ability to manage supply issues and resolve supplier disputes while preserving relationships with suppliers and internal partners.

  • Knowledge of public sector procurement law with an ability to explain the law to non-procurement staff and find pragmatic solutions to potential legal difficulties.
