Senior Technical Project Manager - Telecommute

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages multifaceted, enterprise-wide, complex, and strategic projects by ensuring scope is delivered according to deadlines, budget, and quality standards
  • Manages all project activities including developing project plans and schedules, managing project meetings/agile ceremonies, enforcing quality management, practicing issue/risk and change management, and ensuring all project phases are documented appropriately
  • Manages and reports progress on projects directly to Senior Leadership and Sponsors
  • Serves as a mentor/coach for other IT Project Managers/Scrum Masters
  • Provide expertise, leadership, direction and coaching as Scrum Master to one or more agile teams. Apply the company’s Project Management and Software Development Lifecycles methodology and enforce Project standards. Ensures project and organization’s goals, philosophies, and objectives are optimally supported by IT
  • Facilitate daily scrum and other ceremonies associated with chosen Agile methodology
  • Be a change agent, foster a “learn by doing” culture, and lead teams to self-organization
  • Facilitate getting work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating
  • Encourage and facilitate cross-team coordination and collaboration
  • Constantly assess team and tweak application of Agile to increase efficiency and remove waste
  • Collaborate and partner with peer Agile Coaches to apply shared learnings to all teams
  • Create transparency by radiating information within the team and outside of the team
  • Manage a complex web of communication across a matrixed Agile team, and organization (both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and various levels of leadership)
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution while also shielding team from external disruptions
  • Eliminate all blockers/barriers for any potential crisis or issues and devises contingency plans to mitigate concerns. Minimizes exposure to risk on a Project. Ensures timely completion of sprints
  • Own Agile-related metrics and reports for all assigned IT projects that provide visibility to stakeholders on team-level progress and quality
  • Develop and conduct regular status report for Business Sponsors and present financials, demos, and project status. Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors through tactful delivery of difficult and sensitive information
  • Work tightly with the product owner, lead and business to ensure clarity of requirements, correct prioritization, and exit criteria are all clearly defined
  • Ensure that project documents are current, complete, and stored in a central repository
  • Manage the budgeting and invoice reconciliation processes for all assigned IT projects
  • Conducts project retrospectives to identify project elements that were both successful and unsuccessful
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate in Information Systems degree or related technical field degree or equivalent experience (4 additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree)
  • 3+ years of project management/scrum master experience leading technical projects, including development and execution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certification(s): Agile Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Agile/Scrum, SAFe, Lean Methodology, and/or Project Management
  • 3+ years of experience working all aspects of the system development life cycle (developing/writing system requirements, performing system analysis, technical design, test planning, development, testing, implementation)
  • 2+ years of experience in any of the following: healthcare EMR/ Physician Practice Management delivery, Claims/Platform Management, delivery, Data integrations/data analytics delivery, Other healthcare software delivery experience
  • Experience with ServiceNow
  • Proficiency of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management including tools and techniques (formal project planning, risk/issue management, governance, cost/benefit analysis, project change controls, etc.)
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), MS Project, Microsoft Visio, and Agile project management tools like Rally
  • Proficiency with system development lifecycles such as waterfall and agile
  • Proficiency with infrastructure technology: virtual hosts/servers, database management systems, mass storage solutions or cloud solutions
  • Highly skilled at identifying and removing blockages within teams
  • Ability to facilitate working sessions with large, cross-functional teams (business, technical)
  • Ability to present to and manage communication with business/IT executive leadership
  • Familiar with process improvement techniques: business (Six Sigma, total quality management) and/or IT processes (i.e., SDLC, technical change management, agile management)
  • Broad understanding of at least one of the following key areas of the healthcare business: EMR, Clinical Care, Health Care Economics
  • Have trained and converted teams who were not Agile to a successful and sustained Agile outcome

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600.
