The Slitter Operator is responsible for cutting raw materials: plastics, vinyl, Tyvek into various sizes and lengths per customers’ job orders.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Reads and understands work orders to determine customer production requirements

• Sets up, adjusts, and run slitter

• Retrieves material specified on work order by forklift

• Notify supervisor of raw material shortage

• Follow assembly instructions along with work flow processes and procedures in RF

• Follow safety regulations and facility guidelines

• Complete all work and attain production targets and demands

• Accountable for each order/product

• Check order quality for correct quantities, color, size, shape and image

• Ability to maintain productivity or customers’ demands

• Adjust tooling and set-up of machine accordingly to work orders

• Ability to follow production schedule

• Report problems with quality, process and materials to Production Managers

• Successful candidate will be able to work independently without much direction or supervision

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

• Attend meetings as assigned

• Maintain cleanliness of your work area

• Daily clock in/out for shift and/or applicable breaks

• If all work is completed, please notify your manager

• Maintain good standing with company attendance policy and physically attend all shifts when scheduled; this position is not eligible for remote capabilities

• Report all accidents directly to Human Resources and follow all safety and hazard communication procedures

  • Perform all other duties as directed by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years of technical school preferred
  • A minimum of 4-5 years' experience in Offset Press OR similar press experience
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience working in the printing industry
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office)
