ProHealth Physicians is a physician-led medical group with 85 practice locations throughout Connecticut serving more than 10% of the state's residents. ProHealth Physicians, part of Optum has an immediate full-time opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time (40 hours per week/8 hour shift) position.
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. No nights or weekends.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supports the Care team and its patients through patient care, clinical and administrative tasks including patient intake, receiving and responding to patient phone calls, and documenting patient interactions
- Performs duties within their scope of practice delegated by, and under the supervision of, a provider or physician
- Performing EKGs and other office testing as well as performing quality controls
- Carries out standing orders consistent with ProHealth’s policies and procedures
- Schedules tests, treatments and follow-up visits on behalf of patients
- In advance of the visit, perform Pre-visit Preparation to confirm that all needed information is available
- Delivers quality customer service/patient care

Required Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant Program
- Certified Medical Assistant or be willing to attain certification within 120 days of start date
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ of Medical Assistant experience in a physician practice setting
- Experience working with electronic health records
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of ICD - 10 and CPT coding
- Bilingual English/Spanish

Connecticut Residents Only: The hourly range for Connecticut residents is $16.00 to $25.77.
