Test Lab Technician

Role Purpose: Test, evaluate and troubleshoot Company’s and competitive prototypes and products for design accuracy and reliability

Key Responsibilities:

• Works within strict time constraints to solve customer equipment and design problems
• Build, test and evaluate prototypes, special order and low volume orders
• Testing and evaluation of customer returned products
• Construct test stand, acquire and monitor long term tests and maintain testing records
• Set-up and calibrate instrumentation for product testing (ex: torque meters, pressure transducers gages, thermocouple, etc.)
• Maintenance of lab equipment and maintaining a clean lab enviornment
• Travel and field work; install, monitor and maintain products in the field
• Inspect prototype pieces (per print measurements)

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of electrical wiring a plus
• Knowledge of electronic (instrumentation) wiring a plus
• Extensive product knowledge required for building prototypes for new products, typically going to our customers for their lab and field evaluations
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employee organizations
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form
• Ability to read blueprints and knowledgeable with computers
