IT Battle Captain (Watch Officer) with Security Clearance

IT Battle Captain Andrews AFB, MD Overview: IPT Associates, LLC is a dynamic Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Since 1992, IPT has provided a wide variety of professional services and technology solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), other Federal agencies and commercial clients. We are seeking an IT Battle Captain to support the Air Force Headquarters Air Force (HAF) and Air Force District Washington (AFDW) 844th Communications Group (844CG) in the day-to-day operation of the IT enterprise supporting 18,000 users and mission-critical systems in the National Capital Region (NCR). The IT enterprise spans both unclassified and classified enclaves across three primary bases - the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA) and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) - and numerous remote sites. The IT enterprise includes all typical services - end user workstations, mobile devices, email, applications, servers, storage, virtualization, databases, network, and security - including both organic and externally-supplied services from higher-level AF or DOD service providers. The IT Battle Captain works Major Incidents in coordination with the Government Service Owners to deliver top-notch customer service and respond to the dynamic needs of the user base to meet the diverse missions of the Air Force in the NCR. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Coordinate across production and functional work centers in the delivery of the full span of IT services across the supported enclaves and geographic locations * Provide a liaison between the 844CG work centers and supporting external service providers * Identify opportunities to continuously improve service delivery and expand capabilities that enable additional missions for supported users * Current capability to develop working relationships with Technology vendors and partners * Maintains situational awareness of all outages and incidents affecting IT enterprise managed assets * Documents and submits to program leadership After-Action Reports (AARs), provides comments/findings/recommendations from major incidents/outages * Maintains documentation on ongoing events; coordinates and drives response and troubleshooting across various enterprise teams and service owners * Performs various related tasks as assigned * Work schedule: Regular shift is 1130 to 2000, Monday - Friday. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs. * Amount of Travel: 10% Requirements: * Active US DoD Secret security clearance * BS Degree in IT or related field (4 years equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree) * 6 years of related experience * Certifications: IAT II certification - Security+ CE or other 8570 Compliant Certification (ie: CISSP, CASP) * Advanced level understanding of relevant IT technologies, both user-facing and back-end infrastructure technologies * Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to be able to effectively document solutions, obtain requirements from customers, and to brief 844CG government and program leadership DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * IT operations experience at the Enterprise level * Experience working in a military command or operations center, particularly an Air Force Communications Focal Point (CFP) * Knowledge of Air Force, Pentagon, and/or AFNCR Networks * Experience working at the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) * Able to perform tasks within strict timelines with little or no oversight * Experience using network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, SCOM, and NetCool This job posting sets forth the authorities and responsibilities of this position, which may be changed from time to time as shall be determined.
